Antlers, Oklahoma “Deer Capital of the World”. An outdoor adventure awaits travelers and guests as they explore the scenic Kiamichi Mountains, tour the Wildlife Heritage Center Museum and explore the Historic Antlers Depot and Museum.

Established in 1903, Antlers Spring began as a mountain spring, serving as a watering hole for wildlife and pioneer hunters alike. Its name was derived from the numerous deer antlers left behind at the spring by Indian hunters, trappers and explorers. Abundant wildlife, native pine and oak forests and clear mountain springs welcomed “Indian Territory” frontiersmen and settlers. Antlers
soon became a railhead and a destination for weary travelers and home for others. Today “Antlers Spring” is now Antlers but the area still teems with abundant wildlife, sitting at the foothill of the scenic Kiamichi Mountains and welcomes young and old to experience nature’s beauty in southeast Oklahoma.

Antlers is home to the newly constructed Wildlife Heritage Center Museum. The
museum is located in a real log cabin facility and serves as both a visitor’s information center and interactive wildlife education center. Static displays
of local wildlife including Black bear, Whitetail deer and Wild Turkey can be found in the museum along with the “Our Hunting Heritage” display. The display showcases historic hunting and fishing photographs and artifacts from the area. Live Whitetail and Fallow deer exhibits located next to Wildlife Center provide yearlong viewing enjoyment. The Wildlife Center is open Monday – Saturday. Admission is free. Visitors are also encouraged to visit the Historic Antlers Depot and Museum located in Antlers. The first full-weekend in October hosts the Deer Festival & Outdoor Show in Antlers. Hunting and fi shing equipment, arts and crafts and displays of local wildlife can be found in the fun-filled weekend in October.

Ready for a family adventure? Come and enjoy the fun of fl oating the Kiamichi River, four-wheeling the Kiamichi Mountains or just relaxing in one of the many guest cabins in the area. Adventure awaits in Antlers, Oklahoma!
