Pittsburg County Oklahoma is located southwest of Oklahoma City, in the north-western part of Kiamichi Country. McAlester, the County seat is one of the stat's oldest areas. The city hosts the annual Okahoma State Prison Rodeo every Labor Day, where professional cowboys compete against inmates in a variety of events. Krebs, Oklahoma is known as "Oklahomas Little Italy" and is famouse for is italian food, also known for it's century old mining, it is the location for Oklahomas worst mining disasters which occured on January 7, 1892 where a explosion of Blackdamp killed nearly 100 miners.
